Safe Arrival

Dear Brother and Sister Kendrick,

Elder Nickolas Francis Kendrick has arrived in the Michigan Detroit Mission safe and happy. Adjusting to missionary life can be a challenge for some missionaries.  You can be a great support as you encourage him to press forward in his missionary work.  Ask him questions about how he is serving the people he meets and try to keep conversations focused on his work and not on his home.  It is fine to validate that what he is doing is hard at times, but how proud you are of him and what he is accomplishing.

Your son’s companion is an exceptional missionary.  Because of his diligence and faith, he has been selected to train your son.  This assignment came through much pondering and prayer. Your son’s mailing address throughout his mission will be:

Elder Nickolas Kendrick

23190 W Nine Mile Rd

Southfield MI 48033-6601

In communicating with your son, I can tell you, missionaries love letters from home!  Your missionary can communicate with you on his weekly preparation day via text message, email message, phone calls and video chat, in addition to letters.  The Church has asked that he initiate all contact with you.  Should there be an emergency, or if you desire information regarding any urgent situation, please contact the mission office (248-663-1200), or the Missionary Department in Salt Lake City (801-240-3207).

We are excited to work with Elder Kendrick!  As missionaries truly focus on their purpose, they find great joy and powerful conversion when they feel the Spirit guide them in their work.  You will begin to see great changes in your son as you help him remain focused on his missionary purpose.

We will support and encourage your son in every way possible.  Thank you again for your sacrifice and support.

Sincerely,

Joseph E Johnson, President

Sister JoEllen Johnson

Michigan Detroit Mission
