Staying In Ann Arbor
Hey guys, sorry for the late email, it's been busy here. It's been a good week, but a hard one for me. We had lots of miracles and we got to give a blessing to a 18 month old baby boy and it was honestly a really cool experience.
This week was just different. Let’s start with the good stuff. There's been a member named Cleveland Chandler. The bishop and the mission leader have been working on him to go to the temple to get his endowment out. He has paranoia pretty bad, so I talked him through it and just “related” to him, he said " for you man, I'll do it." This is huge because they've been working on him for a while now. It was definitely an answer to a prayer and I feel very blessed to be a part of it.
Another blessing we had is we went to go visit a member who we meet with weekly. We passed this gentleman named Lewis who could hardly walk. He said he'd met with missionaries before and we had the chance to walk him home because he said he needed help. We both held his arms and walked about 50 yards, but we had a good amount of time to talk with him and he was really agreeing with what we taught him. He's had it rough. He just lost his wife, which I can't imagine how hard that is. We dove a little into the plan of salvation and he really liked it.
I’ve had a lot of good experiences, thanks for the support you all give me! Have a good week! My photos are as follows… our neighbor who's right below us caught their apartment on fire. We had to get out and go to the zone leaders apartment to stay the night. We we were instructed to leave our apartment windows cracked over night to help air out all the smoke.
I was able to go do a little sight seeing because my companion is leaving Ann Arbor. We visited Michigan University to check out the football stadium. It is the biggest in the country. It is called the “Big House”. The gates were closed so we couldn’t go inside, but from outside, it's big. We ate at the world famous sandwich shop called Zingermans. I can’t recommend it enough, sooooo good. It’s a really cool store. My dad knew someone who grew up in Ann Arbor and said it is a must do. U.S. presidents come here to eat when they are in Michigan. I made this hamburger, so I can cook now, yup, branching out from Ramen. More developing my cooking skills, made another good taco.
