Doing The Work
This week was zone conference, it has been the best one I've been too. We talked about how life is hard and missionary work is not easy. What really hit me is when they said, we are not the only ones to ask is there another way?
Jesus Christ asked his Father in heaven the same thing. We're not the only ones to ask.
But how lucky are we to have the Saviors atoning sacrifice to help us through our life. I know for a surety that the Atonement can help in any aspect of our lives and the reality is we should always be trying to improve ourselves to become more like Jesus Christ. He wants to help us, just like the analogy from the Prodigal Son, His hands are always outreached to us.
Another thing I want to point out is the fact that like the father saw him coming and ran to meet him, which in Jewish tradition, I learned, it was not polite or kosher, but he did and the fact that he was watching out for him. It's the same for us today and our relationship with our Heavenly Father. He's very aware of us, our desires, our situations and especially our heart.
For my week, we put our friend Houston on date. It's gonna be a wild ride for him but he's got this.
I also went on a wonderful exchange with a newer Elder and we talked about how important it is to be a friend to all, no matter what you may have in the past and to to care for the people. A good quote I'd like to end that I heard in the MTC.
"People don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care".
