Life Help

This week I got a new companion, Elder Mangelson. He's from Hurricane Utah and he’s  awesome. He's been out for 4 months now and I can't believe I've been out for about 7  months…. I’m the “SC”, senior companion. 



As I look back at the things I have learned, it's really helped me not only be a better  disciple of Jesus Christ, but overall a better person, which in reality is what the Gospel  brings to us. It helps us to be the best version of ourselves, more Christ like. It's the ultimate life help! Christ set the perfect example for us, and I've noticed people  who are Christ like as awesome people and have such a spirit about them. 



You can literally feel it. It reminds me of Elder Gong’s most recent talk, he says...  



"Our Savior is our perfect example. Because He is good, He can go about doing good.  He blesses the one and the 99. He is ministering personified. We become more like  Jesus Christ when we do “unto … the least of these” as we would unto Him, when we  love our neighbor as ourselves, when we “love one another; as I have loved you,” and  when “whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister.” 



Jesus Christ ministers. Angels minister. Followers of Jesus Christ “minister one to  another,” “rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep,” “watch over  [and] … nourish [the people] with things pertaining to righteousness,” “remember … the  poor and the needy, the sick and the afflicted,” let His name be known through our  ministry. As we minister as He would, we witness His miracles, His blessings. We obtain  “a more excellent ministry.”  



This especially talks about being a better minister, which in reality is us being called to  be a friend to someone. We become a better disciple, we become a better friend and  more Christ like. We will become the *best* version of ourselves like God wants us to  be. God has put faith in us.  



For my pictures, I got to hold Jimmy Hendrix Guitar, the guy who owns it says my last name reminds him of Hendrix, haha.  

Then he also had a really old British car called a Miget... I also met this guy named  Keagen, he played soccer and he's just a dawg.

The Difference

Think of the difference of your life without the Gospel and Jesus Christ's example.  Where would you be now?   What would you be doing?   How much different would your life be?   All that you know, the things that bring you peace, the things you enjoy you have been  blessed with, with all this you have, has it changed you?   One of the hardest things to do in life is change. I’ve reflected on how much the Gospel  has changed me. I feel like I've had 5 years of experience with having only being out for  what feels like a few months.   The Gospel helps us change when we follow it and live it, the change comes naturally  as God blesses us when we try to become like the Son.   As I look back from week to week, I see the change, though little, I see how each week  the Gospel helps me "overcome the world and find rest." New Perspective

I am in Detriot. The city. Downtown. Talk about New Perspective. The adjustment has been an interesting one, but I love it. This will most likely be the last area I serve in. I have moved up closer to some of my favorite missionaries. As I reflect on my mission, my perspective has changed in life completely. Perspective is the way we see things when we look at them from a certain distance and it allows us to appreciate their true value and act accordingly. An example, you don't know how much you miss someone until you don't get to spend as much time with them... Distance kills what's fake and shows you what's real. Perspective is the window you look through to perceive everything. Is your window clean or dirty? Perspective helps you to know where you are now and where you want to go.
