Great Week

Image
Greeting everyone, I had a great week! For my pictures I have our friend Ben who's gonna get baptized August 5th! He's holding the clay things I made him haha. Then we met a boy in some apartment that we call "mini Detroit" and his name is Alonzo. His mom told us to go talk to him. She said "my son Alonzo would love to talk to you guys." She goes on to say "I looked at his search history and he looks at Jesus video's all the time!" We then asked where he was and we started to talk to him and he knew more than most adults I've met here..... he was a very sweet boy. We've set up an appointment to teach their family soon! We then helped a member from YSA move to our ward, and he showed us his "guitars." Other than that, this Sunday I am super blessed to have an opportunity to teach at an old folks home to a lot of people. We will be teaching “Come Follow Me” and we have high hopes. Other than that, I can testify to all of you tha...

Blessed

Hey guys, Hopefully this email makes up for not getting one last week. We've been very blessed and our friends Jessica and Ben are going to be baptized on August 5! We've been teaching them from the beginning to now and the change in them is incredible! God works miracles. We had quite the experience this week when we went to help a member move her couch..... we go there and she wants to give usher couch, but we can't have couches so we politely declined and she said "oh well, go put it in the garage and bring the ones in the basement up." So we proceed to do that, when we open the basement door, cold air rushes out.... and I'm but a  few steps down and there are spider webs everywhere. We find out later she hasn't been in her basement for over 10 years. Elder Mangleson has arachnophobia, so I had to get the couch and her recliner to the door way and we had to deal with some other.... Predicaments. The couch is covered in spider webs, wet from dog urine an...

Happy 4th

Happy Independence Day!  For this week we had some good service opportunities and we were blessed with lessons where members and the Spirit could help us Teach. As of the picture, our friend Bill came to church! I don't think I've ever seen someone so excited.... he's called the member 3 times to remind them of needing a ride for next week As for the picture of those planets, Elder Mangelson has shown me some cool ways to use spray paint and we will be bringing these to the art fair in Ann Arbor with the Sisters. One thing I studied heavily this week, was President Nelson's talk on "Let the Lord Prevail" I really got a lot out of it and it simply talks about how having Him to be our #1 influence is without any doubt the best way through life. One promise he gives us is, "so many decisions become easier. So many issues become non- issues! You know how best to groom yourself. You know what to watch and read, where to spend your time, and with whom to associ...

Gates Of Hell

Week 32, imagine that. So for this week we got to go to the farm again to help with the chickens. We helped, ummm, process them and had a chicken cookout. My companion and I went to Hell and we had a tornado watch. It was an eventful week and we we are pretty dang busy with all our Lessons. A lot of behind the scenes stuff going on but we have 2 people who should be baptized July 15! One thing that I've liked a lot during my study was what President Nelson teaches us, that the Lord loves effort. He didn't say how much. If we are genuinely trying each day, the Lord sees that effort we make. Even if its 1% every day, we are making steps in the right Direction. Thank you all for you prayer Elder Nick Kendrick Chelsea, Michigan
