Happy 4th

Happy Independence Day! 



For this week we had some good service opportunities and we were blessed with lessons where members and the Spirit could help us Teach.



As of the picture, our friend Bill came to church! I don't think I've ever seen someone so excited.... he's called the member 3 times to remind them of needing a ride for next week



As for the picture of those planets, Elder Mangelson has shown me some cool ways to use spray paint and we will be bringing these to the art fair in Ann Arbor with the Sisters.



One thing I studied heavily this week, was President Nelson's talk on "Let the Lord Prevail" I really got a lot out of it and it simply talks about how having Him to be our #1 influence is without any doubt the best way through life.



One promise he gives us is, "so many decisions become easier. So many issues become non-

issues! You know how best to groom yourself. You know what to watch and read, where to spend your time, and with whom to associate. You know what you want to accomplish. You know the kind of person you really want to become."



That's incredible! Those are some huge predicaments we can find ourselves in when we get to wrapped up in our own life's. As you go about your week, keep in mind how we can sincerely put the Lord first more and more.....

The Difference

Think of the difference of your life without the Gospel and Jesus Christ's example.  Where would you be now?   What would you be doing?   How much different would your life be?   All that you know, the things that bring you peace, the things you enjoy you have been  blessed with, with all this you have, has it changed you?   One of the hardest things to do in life is change. I’ve reflected on how much the Gospel  has changed me. I feel like I've had 5 years of experience with having only being out for  what feels like a few months.   The Gospel helps us change when we follow it and live it, the change comes naturally  as God blesses us when we try to become like the Son.   As I look back from week to week, I see the change, though little, I see how each week  the Gospel helps me "overcome the world and find rest." New Perspective

I am in Detriot. The city. Downtown. Talk about New Perspective. The adjustment has been an interesting one, but I love it. This will most likely be the last area I serve in. I have moved up closer to some of my favorite missionaries. As I reflect on my mission, my perspective has changed in life completely. Perspective is the way we see things when we look at them from a certain distance and it allows us to appreciate their true value and act accordingly. An example, you don't know how much you miss someone until you don't get to spend as much time with them... Distance kills what's fake and shows you what's real. Perspective is the window you look through to perceive everything. Is your window clean or dirty? Perspective helps you to know where you are now and where you want to go.
