Always Learning

For the past 3 weeks I've learned a lot and had an absolute blast. My trainee Elder Hatton is great and he understands the value of hard work.

It’s gone by fast and we've had good success in this area so far. We met a lady who said she was praying minutes prior to meeting us that God would send her messengers. I only hear of stories like that but it actually happened to us. She came to church the next day and we ended up answering her questions for the whole second hour of church. We hope to continue to pick it up and help some of our friends get baptized.

We had a great Thanksgiving and honestly it just felt like another day with a good meal. We mostly have found it hard to find people here but when we find people they are good. One thing we try to do is invite everyone to church, because if they're not ready for church then they aren't ready to progress.

Going to church shows God we are willing to take time out of our lives and go, as well as take the sacrament to remember him and try to be better. One thing we've been taught is though it may be hard to invite people to church, or even to be baptized, they will never get the chance to accept if no one invites them. We shouldn’t be scared to share the Gospel, or even "guard" it. We should share it, because after all it’s blessed our lives tremendously and we should want the same for our Brothers and Sisters.

One thing I try to remember about church, is what the Book of Mormon says about it. In Moroni it says;

5 And the church did meet together oft, to fast and to pray, and to speak one with another concerning the welfare of their souls.

6 And they did meet together oft to partake of bread and wine, in remembrance of the Lord Jesus.

When I read these words, what stands out to me is how they spoke one to another about the welfare of each others souls, as well as their own. We should be engaged in helping everyone around us. We also should make sure we are taking care of ourselves, so we can love others. I was thinking about how important it is too love ourselves, and think about ourselves the way the Savior does. He does care about us, but he cares more about what we can become, should. When we have a goal with who we want to be, we will become that.

There’s a quote in preach my gospel that says. " What we love determines what we seek. What we seek determines what we think and do. And what we think and do determines who we are—and who we will become."

So seek to become the best version of yourself. As you do I know you will be happier and you will find more joy. God loves you, and he wants the best for you.
