Aim High

If someone was to ask you the purpose of life, what would you say?
Would you say to be happy?
Would you say to find love?
Would you say to find peace?
You could say anyone of these things. However, plain and simply put,
Alma 34:32;
For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors.

One of my favorite things about the Gospel is that we are aiming high. We are trying to become the best versions of ourselves. Trying to become like Jesus Christ, who lived perfectly. He lived this life making all the correct decisions, but that is because he knew the truth. He knew the Gospel.

The Gospel is literally truth.
Truth doesn't change, it is the same yesterday today and forever. So once you know, you know.

I had transfers last week and I am still in Ohio, but I have a new companion, Elder Oliphont. He told me he's wanted to serve with me.

It was hard to see a few people go this transfer, but I am very grateful I got to serve around them, it was
one of the best transfers I have ever had. All I could say was wish you the best.

Recently something I have been trying to focus on is being diligent when things aren't going the way I expected or wanted them too. It seems that my legacy here might be one of grey dots.... which means people who were taught but were dropped for any number of reasons.

My prayers have been a lot more sincere and though things have gotten better, I have continued to be grateful, but I wasn't as much before I experienced the hardship. One of the bittersweet things in life is change. It's hard, but it’s worth it every time.

One scripture I recently saw, can be applicable to how my week has been.
Alma 26:27
However, if you want to read it that bad, you will find it yourself. When read in context it makes it that much better.

Aim high this week, or don't aim low.
Always tell the truth, or at least don’t lie.
Fear nothing, or always be brave.
Work hard, or at least don't be lazy.
Try your best, never your worst.

Never give up, or always keep trying.
Seek the Lord in not only your high times, but in the lows times. He is always there.
Don’t be spiritually blind. Seek Him.

With all my love,
Elder Nick Kendrick
Fremont Ohio
