Average

There are only 2 options in life.

Go grab it,

or live without it.

No one is going to give it to you.

The average person has the average things.

"There is no room for average or complacent disciples. Average is the enemy of excellence, and average commitment will prevent you from enduring to the end."

Elder Kevin W. Pearson

The adversary is trying to make us blind to things of the Lord.

It is time to sink or swim.

Don't have your feet still on the ledge.

In 2014, President Nelson said,

"Your Heavenly Father has known you for a very long time. You, as His son or daughter, were chosen by Him to come to earth at this precise time, to be a leader in His great work on earth.”

You have the most divine potential & inheritance to be where you are and how you are. Don't bury your talents, God has blessed you with them to use!

This week was slower than usual.

I do know God answers prayers and that He blesses us when we pray especially when we pray specifically and are grateful for the things he has already blessed us with.

One thing I had the chance to be grateful for this week was my papa. He has been a tremendous example to me and I admire him for being a spiritual giant.

He never took religion as the "average" thing to do, but as the most important thing to do.

Something that Jesus Christ taught was to be an example of believers. I have had many amazing mentors in my life.

1 Timothy 12 "..be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity."

We are meant to be an example. We have the knowledge to be able to do that. To be someone who’s light shines.

Matthew 5

"16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

Another thing I was grateful for was to be prepared. We went over to a member to have him meet some of our friends and invite them to church. At the end he asked for a blessing.

Seems you are never expecting certain things when you are asked. I of course said, yes. At Elders Quorum on Sunday he shared that his Stake President from a previous ward felt inclined to tell him this.

"The Lord has blessed you with knowledge, materials and time to accomplish these things, He trusts you."

Which, when I heard, shocked me. That is what I said to him word for word.

Even though I never always feel perfectly prepared, I know that the reason I was able to be prepared was because I didn't have an average week.

Jacob 4:7, look it up.

I chose to do the things I needed to do, over the things I wanted to do.

I invite you to do the same this week.

When you say something, mean it.
