Michigan Merry Christmas

Image
Merry Christmas! Hopefully all of you have a great Holiday season. I'd be lying if I said mission Christmas's don't have their pros and cons. It's such a blessing to be doing the Lords work during this Holiday season. So many people don't have family to visit or are lonely. It brought me joy to stop by those people and give them company during this time of year. I also hope that during this time of year, we focus on Jesus Christ. Regardless of the Holiday season we should always be focused on him, we simply live our best lives that way. One scripture I liked this week was in Luke 2:17; And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. This scripture, when read in the context of Jesus Christ and the story of his birth, shows us how important it really is to talk about Him, AND how 2,000 years later it’s the MOST important work today as President Nelson told us. The next scripture shows that it was with haste. Shar...

Transfers

Image
These past few weeks have been good ones. Sadly, this week was transfers and they  took my trainee from me. I will miss Elder Hatton a lot. He taught me how to pray in  Spanish and honestly I learned more from him than he did from me. He was top G. I am  excited for him as he is going to preach in Detroit in Spanish.  We have been very blessed and have had the opportunity of putting our friend Julia on  date for Jan 13th! As we were talking about baptism, her husband Mark said he wants  her 16 year old daughter, Juliana to be baptized as well. We are going to have a lesson  with her this Sunday. I've been thinking about it and I want to be able to explain the  importance of the Gospel and how it is simply the best way to live life. There is nothing  else we should put above trying out best to love God and understand His will for us.  I know without a doubt that living the Gospel and living up to our eternal potential is the  best wa...

Always Learning

Image
For the past 3 weeks I've learned a lot and had an absolute blast. My trainee Elder Hatton is great and he understands the value of hard work. It’s gone by fast and we've had good success in this area so far. We met a lady who said she was praying minutes prior to meeting us that God would send her messengers. I only hear of stories like that but it actually happened to us. She came to church the next day and we ended up answering her questions for the whole second hour of church. We hope to continue to pick it up and help some of our friends get baptized. We had a great Thanksgiving and honestly it just felt like another day with a good meal. We mostly have found it hard to find people here but when we find people they are good. One thing we try to do is invite everyone to church, because if they're not ready for church then they aren't ready to progress. Going to church shows God we are willing to take time out of our lives and go, as well as take the sacrament to rem...
