The Lords Work & Our Part In It

Image
These past few weeks have been great, you will see from the pictures below that the Lord blessed us with a baptism! We have been teaching Lana for some time and we went over there and we felt impressed to put her on date for baptism. I asked if she wanted to in 3 DAYS, and she was ready. She had her interview the next day and passed it. She got baptized and it was wonderful! The spirit was there and she was very excited, after she was baptized she put her arms in the air and said finally! It was such a blessing to help her on this path and it was a blessing to have a ward that helped us get it all set up in time. We have one of our friends Blake come and join us for basketball at the church. He loves it, he may be 14 but he is a good player for his age. We have been teaching his family for awhile and every time we go over there, Elder Omorogbe and I can feel the love the Lord has for them. It's hard to see the potential in people when they don't see it in themselves. I can only...

20 Years

This week was good! We had transfers and I have gotten a new companion Elder Omorogbe! The G is silent.... He's been out for just barely a year and he just came from Chelsea which is where I served for 6 months, so we were able to catch up on that. It surprises me that I have been alive for 20 years! I still have so much to learn, experience and do! I am grateful I have gotten to meet so many amazing people. I have such great friends who I consider family. On top of that, the opportunity to serve a mission and to do the most important work, gathering of Isreal. With 2 decades gone, and the time I could have spent better, and the things I should've done better, I marvel at the Atonement and it's power. As I look back I see my life and the many things I have gone through. I know I couldn't have done it without our Savior Jesus Christ. Though I have learned and improved, there are still things ahead of me that I know I can't do without Him. His way is the way and I...

The Way Of Detroit

It seems like with the recent weather our friends have found more reasons and excuses. I personally feel like winter is a good time to "get ahead" while things slow down.... either way we got a family to church this week which was SO GREAT. They had a great time and it's special to see the ward be involved in the work. They help so much to our friends, they got a bed for some of the kids, they bring by groceries, they are legitimate friends to them, WHICH is how it should be. It means so much to me, and I can't imagine how the Lord feels, it brings me so much joy. We got back in touch with Lana and we are helping her get a job, and I am at a point where I feel imense (Spanish word for huge) gratitude to the Lord for him trusting me with teaching these people. This work is so important and even though the spirit is doing the work, I get to be the messenger. The love I feel for these people is almost crippling. I know I'll never be able to wrap my head around the Lo...
