What A Week

Image
Hey Guys  This week was an interesting one. Up and down it was. We met with  Louis and asked if he wants to get baptized! He said he does! We  also had an awesome lesson with Bianca and when we were teaching  her the Plan of Salvation, she was asking very deep questions….so  we didn't get through the whole thing. Either way, it was a really good  lesson.   Lots of knocking this week and we got 2 new people to teach. When I  was on an exchange with one of the ZL’s (zone leader), as we were  leaving, I had an impression that we aren’t done here. I said we aren’t  done, we’re gonna keep knocking this street. As we stopped at the  last house, that was the one! We knocked on the door and someone  who was doing house care for the old lady who lived there was super  interested and said she wants a Book of Mormon! Sounds too good  to be true!   When it comes to prompting it is always a good rule of thumb to...

Tough Week

Image
Hey everyone!  This week we have had some cool experiences, but at the same time  I was bad at keeping track. Myself and elder Dabell knocked for a  long time this week and honestly didn't have any luck which sucks. It  was a really hard week for me.   We had a cool experience though. We were knocking doors and we  didn't knock the last one. Something (spirit) dragged me back there. I  knocked on the door and she was like, how come you wanted to   knock on my door? I was straight honest and said I felt like I should, I  was walking away but I had a strong impression to knock on your  door. Later she called us in tears and told us how she knew God sent  us to her door, it's really cool. There is a lot more to the story, but for  another day.…. But that happened!   I ran into a lot of Karen's this week telling us to go away and get lost  and they were exceptionally rude.   On another note I know...

New Companion

Image
Hey Guys,  I am staying in Ann Arbor and my new companion is Elder DaBell! He grew up in  Rexburg, Idaho and studied at USU as well! He knows where I lived and come from  and we get along very well.   We have been doing good work since he's gotten here and found a new person to  teach! Yay! We are close on some others as well. We did have to go back to Detroit,  where he last served because he had a baptism. The spirit was really strong there.  After the baptism they played the Rome Temple video which increased the spirit that  was already there. On the way back, I got to see Detroit which was really cool. I  wouldn't feel bad if I didn't see it again though, haha. I did see Canada which is crazy.  It’s just right across the water. We got to teach Louis again and brought along a  member whose name is Mark Vincent Nadon. He's a convert to the church and he's a  very smart guy but can also talk your ear off. The lesson went ...

Staying In Ann Arbor

Image
Hey guys, sorry for the late email, it's been busy here. It's been a good week, but a hard  one for me. We had lots of miracles and we got to give a blessing to a 18 month old  baby boy and it was honestly a really cool experience.  This week was just different. Let’s start with the good stuff. There's been a member  named Cleveland Chandler. The bishop and the mission leader have been working on  him to go to the temple to get his endowment out. He has paranoia pretty bad, so I  talked him through it and just “related” to him, he said " for you man, I'll do it." This is  huge because they've been working on him for a while now. It was definitely an answer  to a prayer and I feel very blessed to be a part of it.  Another blessing we had is we went to go visit a member who we meet with weekly. We  passed this gentleman named Lewis who could hardly walk. He said he'd met with  missionaries before and we had the chance to walk him home...

Happy New Year

HELLO EVERYONE!  Not a lot happened this week again, which drives me a little nuts, but what can I do? I am  getting a lot of time to study and pray which is good! I really like being busy and I hope it snows  a lot, like in Cache Valley, so I can shovel people’s driveways and/or people want to talk with  me about Jesus Christ. Speaking of weather, there is no snow here anymore, and the  temperatures is around the 40s here.  I did have the opportunity to go on an exchange (I swap companions for the day) with the zone  leader this week and we talked to a lot of people, lots of people were interesting but 2 of them  were babysitting. Some lady told us that we were prophets and everyone can be one, we tried   to explain that there is only one prophet and how everyone can receive revelation for  themselves or their family, which she believed in, but she said she won't read the book of  Mormon because her holy spirit told her no. Pe...
